RYA First Aid

A classroom based course, the RYA First Aid course is a full day (or two evenings) focusing on many of the medical situations that could be encountered on the water.

Objective 

To achieve a working knowledge of first aid for people spending time on the water and to be able to support skippers of yachts and motor vessels. 

Content

• All the usual first aid course content plus...
• The recovery position in a confined space
• CPR, including the drowning protocol
• Cold shock
• Hypothermia from immersion and/or exposure
• Seasickness and dehydration
• Medical assistance or advice by VHF
• Helicopter rescue
• MCA Approved
